What percentage of the fare does Uber really take?

※ Download: What percentage do uber drivers make

You get nothing for the miles to pick up a fare. I am talking about driving in philly!!

I, like many of you, was driving basically trying to get by. From reading others articles on uber I gather the amount you can make really depends on what city you are in and not surge hours. Though it's not a far cry from what Uber claims their drivers pay on average per hour, it's important to note that this is still before accounting for other weekly driver expenses such as gas, car payments, car maintenance, and wear and tear. I want to clarify that I understand that this blog is talking about LA and I am from Raleigh, NC.

How much can you really make as an Uber driver? - It is very easy and the schedule is completely flexible.

Pax think the fare is the total amount they pay for a ride. Uber has Drivers think a fare is the amount without booking fee. So drivers never think they losing 50-60% of pax fare. Open the pax app and you see the minimum fare which includes in booking fee. Pax think the fare is the total amount they pay for a ride. They would take more if they could, its whatever the market will bear, and with Uber's aggressive marketing campaign for drivers, the amount which is left is enough to entice a sufficient number of people with their own cars to drive. Apparently a lot of people are fine with that.

The author of this article states that he factors 10% of his revenue for gas. I have good and bad weeks. Alternatively, you can deduct your actual expenses like gas, repairs, depreciation, lease expenses if you lease your car, etc. You can deduct car expenses like the standard mileage rate or the actual expenses. The Uber rate for the neighbor is……… 700 miles x. Mostly good with the benefit of the doubt keeping my skepticism in the back of my mind. Twenty minute rides are better.
